About Kast
KAST stands for Kent Actors Scene and Technique.
KAST is essentially a workout space for your acting muscles, a dojo for fighting fit performances, a skatepark for the gnarliest thespian… flips… you get the idea.
I wanted to create a space for all actors aged 18 and above in Kent to connect and develop their craft.
Weekly scene and technique workshops are a great way to exercise the skills used regularly in castings and jobs- line learning, scene understanding, emotional prep and working with the other actors in the scene.
Focusing on developing authenticity, KAST workshops aim to build confidence and self-trust, allowing actors to follow their impulses and let go of intellectual control in the scene. By putting your attention on the other actors in the scene, you can remove the stress and tightness from acting whilst delivering more real and engaging performances.
About me
Hi, I’m Tom — an experienced actor and creator living in Ramsgate.
I trained at East 15 and the London Meisner Company, and have performed at venues across the UK including Southwark Playhouse, Omnibus, Brighton Open Air, and Pleasance Islington. I was co-recipient of a Herald Angel Award at the Edinburgh Fringe.
On screen, I’ve played lead roles in a range of short and indie films shown at festivals in the UK and abroad, with recent TV credits including Still Up (Apple TV) and Professor T (ITV). As a theatre-maker, I co-wrote, co-produced, and performed in How May I Assist You?, and I'm currently developing a new stage piece, Top16, for 2025. My latest film project, Tenderstem, is heading to the festival circuit this year.
I’ve also had success booking commercial work, which has supported my theatre and filmmaking over the years.
